Love is an amazing sensation, a feeling; it may sometimes be like a mirage. As Freud said, love is a state of temporary psychosis. In love, we often make decisions by listening to the heart and mind—the reservoir of emotions—ignoring what the brain says. In love, we say, ‘I love you to the moon and back,’ our emotions erupt like volcanic lava oozing from the mouth of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Suddenly, giving the realization that ‘I’m at cloud 9.’ The tickling of butterflies, release of endorphins, dopamine, serotonin becomes transient if and only if it was based on external beauty, ignoring the elixir. Rightly, Marcus Aurelius, the former Roman emperor said, ‘The things we love are like the leaves of the tree; they can fall at any moment with a gust of wind.’

Life follows the rule of impermanence, so live in the moment, as the proverb says, ‘Yesterday was history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is the present.’ So live life and be mindful. This should be the foremost concern of everyone’s life.
