Congress has not secured enough seats to form the government this time either. However, they have regained a significant amount of lost ground. Notably, the party has exceeded expectations in Uttar Pradesh, one of the most important states in the Hindi belt. As a result, the Congress camp aims to focus on Uttar Pradesh to bolster their future vote bank. To express their gratitude to the voters in Yogi’s state, Congress has organized a ‘Dhanyavad Yatra’.
In Uttar Pradesh, the land of the Ram Mandir, Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Akhilesh Yadav and his ally Congress have successfully countered the ‘Modi wave.’ To express their gratitude to the public, Congress will hold a ‘Dhanyavad Yatra’ from June 11 to 15. During this tour, Rahul Gandhi, accompanied by the party’s winning Lok Sabha candidates, leaders, and workers, will visit all 403 assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. Priyanka Gandhi will also join the tour. They will thank people from various communities and present them with a copy of the Constitution as a mark of respect.
In the Indian political scenario, Uttar Pradesh is considered of utmost importance. According to political analysts, the political equations in Uttar Pradesh significantly influence the politics of the entire country. It is in this key state that Congress has dealt a blow to the BJP this time.
Uttar Pradesh has always been known as a stronghold of the BJP. Before the elections, the Ram Mandir was inaugurated there with much publicity. However, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won only 33 out of 80 seats in that state. On the other hand, the INDIA alliance secured 43 seats. In 2019, the BJP had won 62 seats in Uttar Pradesh. This time, Congress won 6 seats, and their ally, the Samajwadi Party, won 37 seats. Previously, these two parties together had won only 6 seats. Therefore, it is evident that Congress has made significant gains in Uttar Pradesh compared to the last election.
Rahul Gandhi has won by a significant margin from Gandhi Nagar in Rae Bareli. Even Amethi, which was lost to Smriti Irani, has been reclaimed by the Congress. To express gratitude for this success, Congress has organized a ‘Dhanyavad Yatra’.
