If it is rice sent by centre iit is likely to be found at any BJP leader’s house. If it is the rice procured by state food department there is a chance to find it in a Trinamul leaser’s house. But the law is you have to find the both at ration shop and in ration holder’s bag.But corona has given opportunity to loot government sent staple and to distribute under their banner of their respective political parties to earn the credit .
In a shameless activity the subsidised rice which was sanctioned by the governments using public money are not reaching them in full and are being looted midway. As a result poor and needy are not getting rice that is meant for them. However the rise of this rice politics is not new .
From the left front rule this is continuing and disasters like Aila and Coronascare only gives excuses to these thieves to steal these rice meant for the poor. Gopal Seth, former Trinamul MLA hold several BJP leaders responsible for stealing rice from Food Corporation of India ( FCI) godown and distributing it to earn credit. ” This is shameful act . I can’t imagine BJP leaders to stoop so low . ” said the chairman of regional transport authority of North 24 Parganas district . However Gyanpraksh Ghosh , Sovon Baidya, Subir Sarkar and Subrata Lala heading BJP units( mandal) in the area are univocal and set aside the allegation.
” We have a proper receipt from where bought this rice. Trinal is spreading baseless allegation only to defame us and shield their guilt.
” said Gyan and Sovon. However a feudal war involving other BJP leaders are also brewing up in the area as many BJP leaders are distancing themselves from this controversy. With the local BJP MP Santanu Thakur in not much in prominent role to protest, BJP is really loosing a chance to outweigh Trinamul at least on this rice issue in Bongaon.
