Currently, almost all border trade is internet-dependent. According to sources in the Customs Department, the connection was lost on April 28 due to the department’s specific ‘server’ going down. Despite efforts, it could not be restored till Monday. It is not even understood why the connection was lost. The entire matter was reported to the authorities.
Since then, it has been reported that to deal with the situation, nothing except perishable goods can be exported manually. Trade worth crores of taka is being affected. Therefore, a request has been made to the Finance Minister to intervene.”
